Introduction
Aerial Hotshot uses a fixed wing Cessna aircraft and a selection of specialised equipment to inspect, record and mapĀ aerial assets. This equipment uses GPS coordinates to geo-reference the data captured, record points of interest (POI) and has the capacity to send in-flight images via email to clients for quick action.
Q. So what do we mean by geo-reference (geo-tagged)?
Geo-referencing (geo-tagged) means we associate the data/imagery that we capture to its 'actual position' on Earth, namely its latitude & longitude, which allows us to use this data to spatially orient the survey location. (i.e. map it)
If we did not geo-reference the data/imagery then it would just be imagery taken of 'somewhere' and cannot be mapped.
Q. What equipment is required?
Aerial HotShots has specialised equipment to capture geo-referenced data and tag the video and still photographs. The equipment includes a gyro-stabilised video camera system, geo-tagging equipment, specialised software, Digital SLR Cameras and a number of 'end product' solutions that allows us to produce spatially orientated information for the asset manager.
